I have a 57i phone with a problem. I am running the Aastra scripts, and PBXIAF in device-user mode. When I start the phone, and enter Device and Password, the phone logs on fine, but if I power-cycle the phone, it comes back with the Device and Password prompt again, instead of logging on automatically. There are about 30 other phones on the system, and they all work correctly, so it seems as if the phone is not storing something correctly. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard

Have you checked to see if the mac.cfg file is created? If so, reboot the phone and check to see what happens to it. The only reason it should go to the startup script is if there isn't a mac.cfg file for the phone. If its there, maybe permissions on it?

I have tried deleting the mac.cfg file, and restarting the phone, and doing the initial login. The correct mac.cfg file is created, and as far as I can see, the correct data is in the file. However, when I reboot the phone, it does not appear to read the file, and does not complete the login.

As for permissions, the file is created in exactly the same way as for all the other files, so the permissions should be the same. All the others work, so why not this one? For some reason, it is not requesting the data???

Hmmm. I'm with Brian, sounds like a cache issue. Could be the context file in /var/cache/aastra/[ext].context. Probably wouldn't hurt to also remove the corresponding entries in the /var/cache/aastra/startup_asterisk.cfg.
