Just wanted to relay some information I got from Aastra regarding some of the oddities facing the Aastra 6739i phone.
On this phone, there are times that the XML scripts just don't work right. Sometimes you can get yourself into a situation with visual voice mail and other such things where you lose control from the dialpad and/or handset. It's all a bit clunky at times.
Aastra is working to merge all firmware versions - including the 2.x line from the 675x series phones, into one branch. This will be released as 3.1.
This will also merge the fixes needed for the 6739's XML oddities into a single codebase, making it easier for everyone (developers) involved to keep updates consistant.
I, for one, am looking forward to this. The handset quality and audio quality of the 6739 is a far cry better than the 5x series.

) As well as how to setup backgrounds (black default background is boring). It will be nice to get some firmware that stablizes the phone with the xml scripts.
