Does someone here have been able to make the Hi-Q feature work on Aastra phone with piaf 1.4 Asterisk 1.4?? I have been able to make it work right when i call Aastra to Aastra phone, but as soon is i get out on a VOIP trunk, the sound is all garbled, i don't understand why the phone doesn't use the ulaw codec for external trunk. i have set in the extension
disallow=all
allow=g722&ulaw

but the phone always use g722 even if i go out on a trunk that is set to allow=ulaw only. Someone have good hint on the way to make it work?? Thanx!

Ok here is a little update, i have been able to make it work pretty well, but when i try to use an outbound trunk, from the phone to the piaf box it is still using g722 and from the piaf box to my IAX2 provider, it is using ULAW, the question is: is there anyway to make it not transcode, when it sees that the other end isn't supporting g722, the phone will use ULAW??

By the way, here is the patc file i have used on PIAF to make g722 work without garbling:

I have found somewhere a patch to enable what i am talking about, but doesn't understand how to apply this if someone better then me on linux can take a look at it:
here is the link:
If someone can explain me how to apply those .diff file thanx a lot!
