Sounds like you need a VPN tunnel with a U.S. IP address. Here's the one we use. Works great. Dirt cheap. Many IPs in numerous countries to choose from...

I have said tunnel Except I don't pay for mine it's free ... shhhh don't tell my employer. I'm just setting up a spare Pi for Tor so that should be good if some of the IPs are US based.

I'm sure some of you have seen the news today that Lavabit, the email service that Snoden used, was forced to shut down by the US Government. Worse yet, the owner has being silenced as to the details of the situation - probably under the pretense of "National Security". Apparently, if the government can't have access to your emails, they'll just shut down the email service entirely. It's yet another dark, dark day in the US and yet another clear abuse of power by the government and yet another situation where the Constitution has been totally ignored.
