Anyone tried to install Zoneminder's video surveillance software on a PIAF box. I am thinking about trying this, but as we all know, misery loves company :)

I've never used Zoneminder on an asterisk box, but I did use it on a standalone system. It's an amazing system. WIth an old box, a capture card that I had lying around, and a 50 dollar camera from Harbor freight we were able to find out who was leaving the back door open at night at one of our remote locations.

Just to test it out, I had it installed on the same box once as well as mediatomb. It was on a 64 bit os on C2D with 2gb of ram. But as it turned out the generic capture card I purchased off of ebay wasn't compatible so I don't know of my install was completely correct. I've since scuttled that project and on to something else... it can be done, but it was kinda PITA to get all the dependencies in there especially on a 64 bit system.
But it was several months ago and I didn't take any notes so I am not much help here...
I for one would like to setup pfsense and piaf on the same system using pfsense's FBSD as host OS for a VM and install Piaf as guest in a VM. But I haven't seen anything on setting up VM in FBSD

Can I bump this and get a more current answer? I was thinking about it.

I am currently running it on my box - a little no name underpowered thing - and it has no problems at all. I only use it for 2 cameras at the momement but it works pretty much like a dream.

Thats really cool! If you wouldn't mind can you post your .config line? I believe thats where I am getting in trouble.
