I use SnappyFax to receive faxes. A few offices cannot connect to my fax modem. No one knows why. I want to try Hylafax someday. I was also wondering if I used a Windows Fax Board .. would that help ?

Any suggestions for Hardware ? We receive about 25 faxes per day.

Well ... there has to be *SOME* hardware to receive the fax ! or are you talking about a virtual fax like efax ?

I use to use multitech modems for this on hylafax. worked great and flawless for 2+ years. just upgraded them to PBXinaFlash and hylafax config. works great and still no problems.

If you use the fax modem approach, you can use a very basic machine and it should support this.

My client was getting about 8000 pages a month and some faxes as large as 100 pages legal size.

need some help, let me know.

I second the Multitech modems. Never used them under linux, but I used them for smaller fax servers under Windows with GFI. Course, while we are on that subject, how well would something like a Rhino board work for faxes?

Agreed re multitech as well, also on GFI in Windows. Absolutely no problems for 2+ years except needing a reboot once every few months.
