FYI Are features disabled when free license's maintenance year ends?

I have a free perpetual license for 3CX v15.5 (thanks to 3CX and Ward).

However, based on what I saw during install and from the information on 3CX's website, I'm wondering what will happen when the one year of maintenance included with my perpetual license ends. Will I no longer be able to use the 3CX smartphone clients? Will my 3CX FQDN stop working? Can I no longer get security updates for my install?

Also, what is the upgrade path (for instance, what happens if version 16 is released over a year after I got my license)?

To continue using the free version, you'll need to purchase a maintenance plan (under $100) which provides updates, FQDN and keys for an additional year.
