I don't know if anyone else encountered this but maybe my post can help keep you from beating your head against the wall.

My Aretta DID's had started showing a +1 on all inbound caller-id. At first, it was just an annoyance but I soon found that my phones would not do a redial with the numbers in that format.

I soon had a custom context in extensions_custom.conf to strip off the +1 on the inbound caller-id and that solved my problem.

Yesterday, I got the following email from Aretta. Once I put the changes into effect, I could return to my normal "from-pstn" context again.

Here's the email:
Code:
FROM: Aretta Communications Network Operations Team
SUBJECT: Updated Aretta SIP Trunk Configurations Available

As part of the recent upgrades to our SIP Trunking platform back in
December 2009, we are advising all Aretta SIP Trunking customers to
update their trunk configurations to insure proper delivery of
callerID information when making and receiving calls. Please check
your systems and update your trunk configurations as soon as possible.

(If you have an Asterisk PBX hosted by Aretta, those systems will be
updated automatically this coming weekend.)

You can find auto-generated FreePBX configuration settings at the
following location:

(replace what you currently have with the new configuration settings)
