Yep. 1.8 certainly requires an adjustment in your threshold for pain. If you can't do that, you really shouldn't be a Pioneer. Better yet, install Proxmox and get the best of both worlds.

We run Asterisk 1.4 which is WAF-approved and Asterisk 1.8 just for fun. If anyone needs to make free calls, they dial GV-NXX-NXX-XXXX from the Asterisk 1.4 phones which passes the call to the 1.8 system for processing. It takes less than 2 minutes to set up.
 
Which I have implemented at the lab and works like a charm.

Just saw the pbxinaflash-17555.iso file on SourceForge.
Any hints of what that might be?

Do we still use the 17554 iso for regular purple installations?

They're exactly the same except for the /CentOS empty directory.
