NO JOY ATA Extension not ringing

OK - I haven't experienced this one before, so not sure where to start. I've got a Grandstream HT-701 ATA. Recently, it is not ringing. The call is there and if you pick up the phone you will answer it and everything proceeds just fine. But you have no clue the extension is ringing. I had them do the DND disable (*79), but it didn't matter.

Asterisk CLI shows it ringing just fine and as I said, if they pick up, the calls there. So it must be an ATA issue, but has anyone ever experienced anything like this one?

Not sure what is happening it seems to me Asterisk is handing the call off to the ATA but a ring signal is not reaching the phone or the phone is broke. Here are a few things to try. 1) make sure phone ringer is turned on 2) reboot/power cycle the ATA. 3) replace the phone cord. 4) try a different analog phone. 5) try a different ATA. I don't have a 701 so don't know if it offers any internal logging that might give more info. Good luck.

Yup, sounds like a ringer off, bad phone, bad ATA to me.

I had them plug in another old Bell phone, same result. I've never seen an ATA "go bad" with the ring generation, but hey - I guess there's a first for everything. It's for a family member in Ohio, so guess I'll need to provision a new ATA and mail it up there.

replaced the ATA, same result. So I'm going to try to get them to put in a new phone with cable to rule that out. Can't imagine that its their router related as it did work, but I'll find out.
