I am currently using PIAF 17552 with Asterisk 1.6. I have 2 trunks configured, one with axvoice and a second with broadvoice. Dtmf works fine for outbound calls on both trunks, and incomming calls on the broadvoice trunk. However, it does not function with axvoice. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, any ideas on how to fix it?

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply, but a rookie question

In that this only happens for incoming calls, where would I place the dtmfmode setting, in the PEER Details section, or the incoming calls section?

axvoice inbound dtmf resolved

After many hours of e-mailing with axvoice, the problem was resolved. By default, axvoice configures a user's account with dtmf set to rfc2833. This did not work for inbound dtmf, hense, my IVR was not working. In order to set dtmf to inband, axvoice must change your account settings. Once they reconfigured the account, and I reconfigured the trunk, it started working. Sorry for the confussion with the trunk settings, I did not know that if a trunk is set as type=peer, that only peer settings apply. Also, it is my understanding that inband will only work with ulaw and alaw codecs. In short, while axvoice is very inexpensive, they do not have what I would consider any real tech support. One can only receive support via e-mail, which is not exceptable. Moreover, I have no idea why inbound dtmf does not work when set to rfc2833, as two other VOIP providers that I have used in the past worked fine.
