New to VOIP, I'm in the process of setting up the big "O".
my new Aastra 6757i just arrived today.
I signed up for a Sipgate account and thought I would attempt to make that work for starters, check voice quality etc.

Problem is, I can't figure out how to configure the phone. Sipgate doesn't have an Aastra example and support says they will try to get back to me within 48 hours. That's forever.

Can someone tell me how to configure this phone to work with Sipgate?

The basic info they give you is registry and proxy of sipgate.com.
then a user id and pw. I put that info on the webui under Global SIP. But that does not seem to get it done.

I may have firewall issues. I gave the phone a fixed addresss and forwarded UDP ports 5060/ 5004/ 10000 to the phones IP.

I'm not even sure that's the right thing to do. HELP!!

Got a response from support and got it working.
Screen name needs to be "sipgate"
screen name 2, phone number and caller ID need to be the sipgate ID.
I haven't tried to break it yet. But I do have the following inbound ports forwarded to the phone: 3000, 5020-5040, 5060-5061 and 10000.
