bash_profile processed during boot [SOLVED]

This is on a clean install of PiaF Gold (1.4/Zaptel)...

For some strange reason, /root/.bash_profile is being processed during the boot-phase prior to user login. The symptom is that the PiaF Status screen is showing during boot (right before starting 'system message bus'), and then again when you login as root.

What's particularly bad about this, is I am unable to place anything in /root/.bash_profile without it hanging the boot cycle as I insert a shell menu with user interaction... so the system just sits there waiting for the menu to finish before continuing the boot process.

...I can't seem to find where it's being referenced to stop /root/.bash_profile from being processed during boot.

Any ideas?

Why not put whatever you want in rc.local instead?

Unfortunately, that's not an acceptable workaround as user authentication is required for security... I really need to stop bash_profile from being processed during boot. I've checked the usual rc.d/chkconfig, but can't find where it's being called. Any ideas?

glad that solved it. i had turned off mdmonitor, since i am using a virtual machine :)
