I followed the guide here:
http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/Asterisk/IAX2Trunk.html

for setting up an IAX2 trunk between two peers but it looks like BFL (Blinking Flashing Light) breaks on my Aastra 6739i phones, it shows a caution symbol on the users extension on the other side of the trunk, the Flash Operator Panel also doesn't show users on the other side of the trunk.

Will BFL not work in this configuration? Is there a workaround?

BLF I think is what you mean (Busy Lamp Field). And no, it doesn't work that way. I can't think of a way to make it work. The only thing I can think of is to have a VPN tunnel between the locations and setup an extension on each PBX on the Aastra then somehow figure out how to indicate which one to use in the BLF field (but I'm not sure that's possible).

I don't have peered servers to test, but what if you make a "custom extension" on the local pbx that points to the actual extension on the remote pbx? I don't know if the hints will be preserved across the iax bridge.

I like BFL better than BLF, it's more intuitive:smile5:

I just tried this and they weren't, but it was a 1.8 to a 1.4 system, so that might matter.
