Calls slightly distorted/choppy using axvoice

Hello-

I have PBX in a flash installed on a fresh server and its running great. The audio when using the system is slightly choppy. Could this be to the default codecs?

A public ip is assigned to the server, with a straight shot out, no nat. The data line is an OC12 so we have plently of bandwidth.

Context is set to ulaw

If it could be a codec, does anyone have any instructions on how to changes these?

Ulaw is about the best quality there is, have you got a decent machine, or an old clunker?

Its a newer dedicated server... dual xeon 3.06, 4 gigs of ram. Might be something else?
