Hi there

I´m using PIAF, with update-source, scripts and fixes (so many times :))

Asterisk 1.4.18.1
freePBX 2.4
Linux version 2.6.18-8.1.15.el5 i686

I did all the updates in PIAF, and I´m not able to stop amportal normally.

When I execute

#amportal stop

I receive similar message that I found in this forum related to 1.4.16:

/usr/sbin/safe_asterisk: line 117: 2741 Aborted (core dumped) nice -n $PRIORITY ${ASTSBINDIR}/asterisk -f ${CLIARGS} ${ASTARGS} >&/dev/${TTY} < /dev/${TTY}
Asterisk ended with exit status 134

Asterisk exited on signal 6.

cat: /var/run/asterisk.pid: No such file or directory

Automatically restarting Asterisk.

mpg123: no process killed

But, if I execute:

#amportal kill
KILLING AMP PROCESSES
mpg123: no process killed
usage: ........
op_server.pl: no process killed

even with this messages, if I execute after this command:

#amportl stop

It stops normally. Maybe something with mpg123? Any directions?

Thanks
Mauro

try the following

sigh

I noticed some odd things with this version of 1.4X and 1.6b when compiling from source. There seems to be some interaction during the compile process between asterisk and ntpd..... I get a warning about it being 1961 :banghead: (I thought I heard the time warp playing..)

I did not even try to figure this out rather I did

chkconfig ntpd off
service ntpd stop

then reran update scripts then update-fixes (always run this after you run update-source! Digium has taken to altering permissions during the compile process it seems)
The error did not resurface. I got this on a couple of machines but not all of them......

Thanks for your answer. I ran:

#chkconfig ntpd off
#service ntpd stop

#update-scripts
#update-fixes

#shutdown -r now (reboot)

Try to stop the amportal:

#amportal stop

And the error come again.

I´m trying to solve this to learn a little bit more. This force us to dig and go to foruns. But I thing that will be better if I go for a clean install again.

Can you suggest the best way to go? stay with the PIAF 1.1 iso Kernel and asterisk 1.4.16?

One more note (for you know):

If I kill the amportal with:

#amportal kill

(some errors messages came ...)

and start asterisk as root:

#asterisk -U root

the amportal stop command executes normally

Thanks again
regards

Mauro

scrub and reinstall is your best choice. I have not been able to duplicate your problem sorry
