Can't Find Extension Recordings

I wanted the capability set up to record an extension's conversation 'on demand'. I've got that working fine - pressing *1 after the call begins generates a tone and the conversation is recorded, as evidenced by the .wav file that is then found in the /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/ subdirectory.

However, when I select Recordings from the FreePBX Admin screen, and log into the appropriate Extension (the one from which the recorded call was made), there are no recorded calls displayed under Call Monitor.

What am I doing wrong, in order to be able to 'find' the recorded calls and play them back, without having to download them from the server?
