I am installing PIAF 64 bit on a Lenovo Ideacentre Q150 (atom processor just like Acer Revo)

I have it connected to a Dlink DGL-4500 router - the router has internet access.

During the install of PIAF, everthing goes fine.
It brings up ETH0
Then when trying to get an IP address it says "SIOCSIFFLAGS: are temporarily unavailable"

It can't get an IP so needless to say the install will not continue.

I know the hardware is good, because it worked fine in Windows (got ip address thru dhcp, surfed the web) before I ran the install and hosed it.

I connected another computer to the same nw cable and it received an IP immediately.

I checked the bios to make sure that Plug and Play OS is set to NO.

Please help... Thank you in advance.:confused5:

Sounds like the network card is not recognized. If you do a "dmesg | less", what does the network card come up as? You may need to install a driver for it.

I second that. Our atom board needed a special driver for it to work, not the one that the install wanted to use. Read the (very) tiny print on the NIC chip (probably a Realtek, look for the crab) and grab the proper driver.

here is what I get when I type: lspci -m | grep net

01:08.0 "Ethernet controller" "Intel Corporation" "82552 10/100 Network Connection" -r02 "Lenovo "Unknown device 3605"

Greek to me... hope it helps

Thanks for your replies thus far

Solved my problem.

Sent the cpu back, got another Lenovo (looks just like it) but does not have the e100 network driver.

Works like a champ.
