Running a VOIP server over either services makes no sense to me given DO, Vultr et al will do that all day and all night for $60 a year.
I am looking more for clients ... seems if their network is split between PC's and Phones, then handling the phones should work 100% no issues. If their PC's are there, then you could end up with bandwidth capacity issues.

Have to figure out which, but plan to try this on a client soon. Sounds like a great plan for Florida Hurricane network outages.

AT&T has a special plan with data only. Starting at 2GB of data a month , plus static IP for $35. No phone number is included at all. I recall I got a free 200MB T-Mobile data plan, but it had a phone number, and could send/receive texts.

You're comfortable giving Mint 12 mos of payments up front to get that rate?
I am because I have and it was exactly as advertised.
If however you are not, you can suck it and see for three months at the same rate.

My post was 'anecdotal', I too had a pixel 3, (e-sim for google FI, sim for Visible) and got visible's ZTE cheapo, they both worked as hot spots depending on which had the SIM card. . . until they didn't (neither of them) :)

Probably 150GB per month for a while, they both continued to work individually on the handset for what that's worth, but fighting with Visible proved futile.

Mint slows after 35G per month, and I can live with that. couple of movies a night and full access to my cloud infrastructure even after that soft limit. Wife is happy ;-)

If Visible works for you, great, I learned not to rely on them.

150GB mo is um, excessive, no? lol

Are you pushing that through Mint every month now?

No, I now have a 150Mbs Wifi link from an associate and a solar array for when SCE has it's pylons catch fire ;-)

Visible on 5G in Providence, RI is not as fast as 4G. Disappointing. 31.2 mb down by 8. 65 mb up.

If one doesn't know what a gobstopper is it is not likely one will ever understand that ;-)

No such thing, sugar dissolves in saliva at an alarming rate, ask any dentist. ;-) but the bit of licorice in the middle is lovely

My girlfriend and I just started using the service as a second phone and business line, just testing it out, we were on a pretty good promotion plan that's coming to and end, and have started looking for parties to join and I stumbled upon your post, is there still room in your party, @w1ve

Well, depends how far you are from a 5G radio. They are very short range. If you are on the edge, speed drops significantly.

Room for 1000s more!

FYI - I switch to visible from cricket using this group(thanks), everything working great(Pixel). Then switch wife over and purchased new iPhone 12 max - nothing but issues. Did the network reset with CSR, no good. Had three other calls with CSR - nothing helped. missed txt, dropping calls constantly. Switch wife to Verizon, with new sim card - everything working 100% - so YMMV...

I take it the iPhone was not purchased from Visible?

Purchased from Visible or not, iPhones are pretty standard and have all the cellular bands. They might or might not have the Verizon 5g millimeter wave radios but they should operate correctly otherwise. I just think people at Visible are not provisioning the sim cards correctly. The newer iPhones let you download the esim without ever waiting for them to mail a sim card. @Brianmac did you download an esim on the iPhone or just order a byod sim card?
