Changing the email Voicemail sends

Hi all,

is their a way I can change what is sent to a user when they receive a voicemail in their email?

Right now it says:

There is a new voicemail in mailbox 201:

From: "user1" <202>
Length: 0:05 seconds
Date: Friday, December 28, 2007 at 09:25:59 PM

Dial *98 to access your voicemail by phone.

Is their a way I can change the message and add bits I want to send to users?

+ I need to change that AMPWEBADDRESS bit

The name of whom the email is addressed to is whatever you've called the extension in FreePBX - as is where the email claims the voicemail is from.

What I was looking specifically to do was to add another bit of text in, with a help me quick guide and also to change the location that the email says the recordings page is:

http://AMPWEBADDRESS/recordings/index.php

and I want to change it to something else so that the link goes through a different server 1st.

Well, the URL is editable and the procedure is explained in both the above links.

Using nano (or winscp/putty) edit the file /etc/asterisk/vm_email.inc. Do not edit this file with anything like Window's notepad as you will break it.

how to customize the short email notification to pager?

This is good for changing the text of the outgoing email, but is there a way to change the text in the short email sent to the pager?

I want to have both the Callerid(name) and Callerid(num) in the short message, but was not able to find where to change it...

Just change the AMPWEBADRESS= value in amportal.conf
