Slowly but surely - I am getting somewhere with this.

(and yes, I know - SCCP only - but all indications are that the new SCCP-B support will be good (when I can get it to work).

Firstly, getting in to set settings on the phone is a &*(&$#. THere are only so many things that you can try to do with a dozen or so keys and a two line display. Did that, set up a t*f*t*p service, and got it to download a new firmware image (P00405000700). THis changed the menu on the phone slightly.

However now, the phone just "sits" and cycles through a sequence of configuring Vlan, Configuring IP, configuring CMLIST and then opening 192.168.2.32 and 192.168.2.254 respectively a new times

Settings on the phone (getting into the "unlocked state" to change these, if needed.

Voice VLAN Enabled (Yes) - don't appear to be able to change this.

GARP Enabled (Yes) - Ditto
t*f*t*p Server 2 (Blank)
PC Port Configuration (Not available)
SW POrt Configuration (10HALF)
PC Port Disabled (YES)
Forwarding Delay (No)
Erase Configuration (no)
Alternate t*f*t*p (No)
DHCP Address Released (No)
DHCP Enabled (No)
CallManager 3-5 (Blank)
CallManager 2 SRST (192.168.2.254) - Can't edit this.
CallManager 1 (192.168.2.32) - My PIAF Box
Admin Vlan ID - (Blank)
Operational Vlan ID (Blank)
DNS Server 2-5 (Blank)
DNS Server 1 (203.134.12.90) - My ISP's DNS Server
Default Router 2-5 (Blank)
Default Router 1 (192.168.2.254) - My Router
t*f*t*p Server 1 (192.168.2.32) - My PIAF Box, and t*f*t*p source
SUBNET MAsk (255.255.255.0)
IP Address (192.168.2.38) of the phone
Domain Name (Blank)
HOST NAme (SEP000D290BE962)
MAC Address (000D290BE962)
BOOTP Server (No)
DHCP Server (Blank)

When I boot the phone, as mentioned,it goes through a sequence of

CONFIGURING VLAN
CONFIGURING IP
CONFIGURING CM LIST and then oscilaltes between Opening 192.168.2.32 and 192.168.2.254 a while, and then starts again.

I have gotten into the startup script in /etc/xinet.d/t*f*t*p and added a -vv to the invocation of the t*f*t*p server to make it verify - If I then tail /var/log/messages I am seeing this come up...

Jul 24 23:58:05 pbx in.tftpd[19453]: RRQ from 192.168.2.38 filename SEP000D290BE962.cnf.xml

ANd yes, in tftpboot I have P00405000700.bin and ditto.sbn as well as a SEP000D290BE962.cnf.xml (and a .CNF.XML because I read somewhere that they can be case sensitive)

the SEP(MAC Address) is very basic -

<device>
<devicePool>
<callManagerGroup>
<members>
<member priority="0">
<callManager>
<ports>
<ethernetPhonePort>2000</ethernetPhonePort>
</ports>
<processNodeName>192.168.2.32</processNodeName>
</callManager>
</member>
</members>
</callManagerGroup>
</devicePool>
<loadInformation>P00405000700</loadInformation>
<userLocale>
<name>English_United_States</name>
<langCode>en</langCode>
</userLocale>
<networkLocale>United_States</networkLocale>
<idleTimeout>0</idleTimeout>
<authenticationURL></authenticationURL>
<directoryURL></directoryURL>
<idleURL></idleURL>
<informationURL></informationURL>
<messagesURL></messagesURL>
<proxyServerURL></proxyServerURL>
<servicesURL></servicesURL>
</device>

At this point, I don't think it is even getting to the point at looking at /etc/asterisk/sccp.conf - but that is set up, and a
my sccp channel is loading property

Help... Anyone - I am stumped...

This is not a phone I've ever tried SCCP-b with, and can't say that it actually supports it (I would actually be suprised given its age, although one can hope)...

Yes, filenames ARE case-sensitive, when in doubt... duplicate the files in BOTH cases.

...all I can say is triple-check your configs for errors & syntax.

::Updated::

Required filenames:
SEPMACADDRESS.cnf.xml
XMLDefault.cnf
sccp.conf

Oh, and make sure you don't assign a very long name/description
(i.e. 'Michealangelo' would cause a phone to reject a config, but 'Mike' would be accepted)

Looking at the /var/log/messages it would appear that it is reading or trying to read or requesting SEP000D290BE962.cnf.xml (appropriately upper/lower cased)

That file is there in my /tftpboot and just to be sure, I "minimalized what I had, down to what is posted in...

http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Cisco+7910-HOWTO

with two changes - the ip address of the asterisk server, and the firmware version matching...

Still no joy, it appears to be asking for that file, and reasking, so I am assuming that it isn't getting it or the syntax is incorrect. I have chmoded 777 the file, just to make sure that it's not a protection thing either.

Has anyone made one of these work?

I am guessing at one of two things - I have an incorrect setting on the phone or there is something wrong in the SEPmacaddr file.

Has anyone been able to make one of these work?

Peter
