Codec Negotiation

I am wondering the same. As far as I can tell Asterisk is negotiation the codecs between itself and each endpoint separately and performs transcoding if needed. This patch seems to improve the situation by negotiating the codec from one endpoint to the other.

For instance I would like to use G729 for all my calls but have my ATA extension configured as ulaw for my fax.

The patch seems to be for Asterisk 1.4.17. Is there an update script to update the PIAF source from 1.4.15 to 1.4.17 or should that be done manually?

Thanks

update-source from the command prompt will bring you up to Asterisk 1.4.17. No muss, no fuss! :smile5:

after update-source, cdr stops working

after the update-source, the cdr doesn't work, need to do update-fixes to re-activate something
