If I have a 2meg internet bandwith, how many people can call in my conference line from external phones assuming that I have great number of inbound channels available. If it is hosted in big datacenter, does that solve the problem since it would be using the datacenter's bandwith?

With an uncompressed codec, budget for slightly less than 100Kb/s per channel. Much Less if you use a compressed codec.

So a 2meg line can only handle 20 participants in a conference if it is uncompressed codec like g711. So if there is need for 30-40 people participating the calls, voip would not be a solution unless increase the bandwith.
