My asterisk log is covered with this error. It is nearly 9pm here and no one is in the office, but the log continues to generate this error. There is currently server load of zero.

What could be causing this problem?!?!?

Google suggests a that the time on the server and the hardware clock have drifted out of sync, it also suggests a reboot may fix it for a while.

Let us know if it helps, then we can look at a permenant fix.

What is the hardware spec.

Joe

I've done my fair share of searching and have tried many suggestions. I've rebooted a half dozen times and setup a time sync with a time server.

The problem still persists...

What is the hardware spec.

It is an Intel Atom board with 2GB of ram. It also runs an Openfire server and usually there are 3 flash operator panels open. I rarely see the processor spike. Right now there are 6 active calls and CPU usage fluctuates from 1% to 3%.

The server seems very solid. Except for this constant error in the log:

Code:
[2008-10-13 20:52:06] DEBUG[2919] sched.c: Request to schedule in the past?!?!

It is also accompanied by this error at time:

Code:
[2008-10-14 07:47:46] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '130' is now Lagged. (3704ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:46] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '132' is now Lagged. (3705ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:46] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '170' is now Lagged. (3140ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:56] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '131' is now Reachable. (28ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:56] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '132' is now Reachable. (28ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:56] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '130' is now Reachable. (29ms / 2000ms)
[2008-10-14 07:47:56] NOTICE[5452] chan_sip.c: Peer '170' is now Reachable. (30ms / 2000ms)

It doesn't seem like it could be, but we have been having some DNS issues on the managed router. Could this cause any of this?

Who knows ;-)

I've got into the habit of installing bind on all the PBX system I am involved in, this is all done in webmin, and is very easy to do. Just remember to type setup at the command line, system services, and select "named" to start up on boot.

I did try to script the installation of Bind during the PiaF install, or better during the ISO install, but never had any success.

I think that lagged means that the lag time for the extension has exceeded 2000ms, which is the default value for qualify=yes set by default in the extension in FreePBX. The phone will be regarded as offline, once the lag time exceeds 2000ms. or whatever value in milliseconds you have set against qualify=.

Who knows ;-)

LOL, I'm really starting to get this stuff. If it works it works.

In what file can I edit the qualify=? I checked out sip.conf, but couldn't find anything. I'd like to up the value to like 5000ms.

Hi

The qualify statement is against the extension, edit the extension in FreePBX and you will see it.

It can also be used in a trunk definition.
