Hi Fellas,

I can't get my DISA to work! I have a vanilla install of the Asterisk-GUI on Ubuntu 14 (Asterisk 11.19.0 and Ast-GUI 2.0-r5220). From what I understand, there should be a few simple steps to get things working:

  1. Get passwords (cat passwords.FAQ);
  2. Dial your DID;
  3. At the IVR, type DISA (dial "3472");
  4. Type your password (from #1 above); and
  5. Dial your number with area code (it abruptly disconnects if I add a "1" in front of the area code first).

So, I can get through all 5 steps and hear the IVR repeat my dialed number request and then proceed to dial. However, the phone is silent after that (no ringing) and it never seems to connect to anything. When I open the console, it looks like a ton of traffic is flying, but it never connects.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am a newbie at this but here is how I setup my DISA's:

First, I make a DISA (Applications -> DISA). In this case I called it "Mike":

Edit DISA
DISA name:? Mike
PIN? 1234
Response Timeout? 30
Digit Timeout? 30
Require Confirmation?
Caller ID?
Context? From-internal
Allow Hangup?
Caller ID Override? Disable Enable

Then I setup an "inbound route" for the DID that I am using and point it to the DISA: Set Destination DISA -> Mike

I'm sure that you can insert an IVR and then point one the options to the DISA - I did this once before.

All of this assumes that you have a "Trunk" and an "Outbound Route" set up and working properly.

Thanks, Robert, but I have a different GUI on my PBX. I am using the Asterisk-GUI, and so I don't have those exact options.
