encrypting sip traffic

Am just curious if it is possible to encrypt sip traffic to prevent big brother from barging in.

Am not doing anything illegal - but the thought of them listening to voIP traffic kinda turns my stomach....

Is it possible?

Only between your own endpoints, using something like a vpn.
