Greetings.
Has anyone tried using the Epygi Gateway with PIF 1.3 ?
Calls are going out of asterisk to the gateway but stopping there - a default "the number you have dialled is not in service" message is what you get. Calls into the gateway from the PSTN are answered but not being passed on to asterisk "the number you have dialled is not in service" again. The Epygi box has an AA built into it and when I enable that it answers inbound calls and gives the default IVR menu. I've only used a SPA400 FXS gateway before but the set up for that with asterisk is different.
Appreciate any help.

OK then....
When using Freepbx 2.5 for some reason the disallow and allow statements in the trunk settings were reversed. Changed that and now inbound calls go to the correct IVR - great.
However now all outbound calls go to the same IVR even though its not in any outbound routes.
There is only one trunk with a X. dial rule and only one outbound route that has 9|. dial rule using that trunk.
Any ideas ?

Epygi is fantastic, we have implimented several of them...

PM me your email and I will send you some info...

However, it sounds to me the issue is not witht hte gateway but some other issue... try putting a 21|. statement in your outbound route (or some other prefix). and try that...

Also, the logs are your friend... do a sip debug in the CLI and watch what happens when you make a call.

Thanks for the reply gaijin. As it turns out another kiwi - thanks Piri - gave me a heads up that sorted it out. For those wanting to know, I had to default the epygi unit and reset the call routing tables so that the first setting in the table was for the outbound rule. The inbound rule was the second setting in the table. Worked mint after that. For such a powerful device that seemed a bit odd so I reversed the settings again to see if it would break - sure enough, back to the reset. Definitely the easiest gateway to set-up so far.

Hi All!

Been struggling to setup an Epygi QuadroISDN myself.

Close to the same symptoms as Vespaman: I can make outgoing calls, but incoming are not forwarded to the PiaF box. When I let the Epygi AA answer the call, she does that very well! But when I route it to the routing table again, the phone just rings.

I am not too sure of the config on either the Epygi nor the PiaF box. Also the dipswitch settings on the ISDN ports of the Epygi.

I have a four port BRI ISDN gateway, but are currently only using two ports.

Gaijin, Vespaman and others, pls share your knowledge?

THX!

HI vespaman! :smile5:

Not good... :cryin:

I still can't get calls to go to Asterisk. The call rings at the Epygi, and is then dumped. Asterisk doesn't even seem to receive it.

After three weeks, and needing to get this somewhere, I decided to dump the Epygi for now and start using a Patton SmartNode. :confused5:

At least, with the Patton, the calls are now answered by Alison. She does tell me that the number does not exist, which is not what I want to hear, but at least now I know the problem is with my Asterisk config and I am not guessing whether the gateway and Asterisk is talking to each other.

If the supplier won't take the Epygi back, I'll have to figure it out. At this stage I am waiting for them to confirm whether the unit is actually working, and not faulty.

BTW, I have now tried three different ways of configuring the Epygi from three different sources.

I cannot find ANY documentation on configuring Asterisk/FreePBX for the Epygi, which sucks.

I'll reserve my comments and emotions about future decision to buy their products for now :| not even the supplier is able to assist me. Also, they cannot reference me to anybody who has this setup working?

I'll start a new thread to try and get help with the Patton.

You could always flash PiaF on it ;-)

More seriously, can you get the epygi box working with just a VoIP phone attached to the Epygi unit?

Joe

Rawstorne, I would be happy to send you a working config, if you want, from the epygi that I installed. Whats your e-mail ?

Hi Vespaman!

Yes please!

I have given up on the Epygi as I got the Patton to work.

However, leaving the Epygi to be used as a doorstop is a bit expensive!
