Extension mapped to SIP URI suddenly failed

I have a PIAF extension mapped to my external SIP URI. To be specific, it's extension 716. I set it up as a Custom Extension. That's the only way I could get the "Dial" text field to come up.

In the Dial field I put SIP/[email protected]. It worked fine up until about a week ago.

When I dial [email protected] from anywhere else, i.e., not through my PIAF, it works fine. So sip2sip.info seems to be receiving calls to that URI just fine. The problem is that when I try to call that URI by ringing Extension 716, nothing happens.

I have a pretty significant strategy set up around this working, so if anybody has any ideas, please feel free! Extension 716 is part of a ring group that, among other things, lights up my sip2sip.info URI.

Tried the ping from my PIAF to sip2sip.info. The ping works fine, if a bit latent.

This is the first line of the ping output, all the others are pretty much the same:

64 bytes from redirect.dns-hosting.info (81.23.228.200): icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=159 ms

Most of the pings are right around 160 ms. After transmitting 25 packets I had 0% packet loss, so in theory the connection is pretty good to sip2sip.info.

Do you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Could you paste a log of a call to extension 716? Did you update anything recently?

Could you paste a log of a call to extension 716?

I shall do that shortly. By a "call log" do you mean just a line from the call records in the FreePBX Reports section? Do you know what is the relevant data?

Just as a quick preview, when I call Extension 716 from Extension 701 or any other internal extension, the call just fails. It just rings for a while and gives up.

But a call placed to [email protected] from, i.e., not through my PIAF, works just fine.

Did you update anything recently?

No, I didn't. When it stopped working, I killed the previous extension that pointed to [email protected] and created a new one. That was all I did.

I only noticed the problem when people calling into my PIAF couldn't reach me at my remote location due to it not ringing my sip2sip.info address anymore.

This is the line from the call log. I placed the call from extension 701 to 716. 716 is the extension with "SIP/[email protected]" in the "dial" field.

14. 2010-08-24 15:11:25 SIP/701-09... 701 "Joe Grim" <701> 716 FAILED 00:32

This is another entry where I tried to call from 710 to 716. Same result, obviously.

48. 2010-08-23 20:53:42 SIP/710-b7... 710 "Joe Grim iPhone SIP" <710> 716 FAILED 00:32

Any further thoughts are much appreciated. I'm just baffled as to why PIAF suddenly got confused about reaching SIP2SIP.
