Okay, so here's my hypothetical setup. I'll refer to my client as $Client.
Here is what I would like to accomplish:
$Client has (let's say) 3 SIP endpoints located at their site, all connecting to a CLOUD PBX (this is important)
$Client would like for all their endpoints to ring when a call comes in, and to forward to voicemail if no one answers.
However, if the internet goes out at $Client's site, they would want to have all calls to re re-routed to a PSTN number. Unfortunately, I don't see there is a specific "if all endpoints in the ring group are unreachable" option
So, I've come up with a sort of solution: Follow-me
I would choose a primary extension, enable FM, and add the other extensions to the list, with an initial ring time of 0 seconds.
At the first extension's properties, there is an option to fail over to a misc destination if the endpoint is not reachable. This means that calls will forward to voicemail ONLY if the endpoint is reachable, but forward to a PSTN number if it is not.
My question is: Is using Follow-Me a good solution? Is there a far more efficient way? Let me know.
