Hi folks,

I recently upgraded the firmware on my SPA3102 to the latest (5.2.13) and during the process the unit somehow reset itself to factory defaults. After the reset I can no longer make outbound calls to my Google Voice account (SIP) or using the PSTN line. As soon as I pick up the phone attached to my FXS line I get a fast busy. Nothing on the PIAF side has changed: the trunks, extensions, and routes are all the same as they were when this was working fine before.

I currently don't have a phone line hooked up to the FXO port but I can if that helps with troubleshooting. Before the reset I used Google Voice as my main provider and made all my calls through it. The SPA3102 is pretty much at factory defaults except for proxy IP addresses, usernames and passwords for the extension and trunk, and LAN/WAN settings since that device does not handle my internet connection.

One more thing: inbound calls to my GV number work fine and are routed properly to my SPA3102 and to my handset. The problem is only with attempting to make outbound calls.

Any suggestions on where to start?

You could try flashing the firmware again. Have you power cycled it? You may have to hard reset it and reprogram the device.

Change your Line 1 Dial Plan to
Code:
([*#x].)
This allows the SPA to bypass its internal processing and pass all calls to PiaF.

Also, you may want to remove all Vertical Service Activation Codes from the Regional tab, as many of these conflict with FreePBX feature codes and functions.

I re-flashed the SPA3102 and set the line 1 dial plan as directed above. Neither had any effect. I plugged in a PSTN line into the FXO port and I do get a dial tone so I know the unit isn't defective. If I disable the PSTN line the fast busy goes away but now there's just silence and no dial tone.

Doh... just figured it out.

I had the ethernet cable plugged into the LAN port instead of the WAN port. Once I swapped the ports everything started working again.

That is why I have a piece of tape over the ethernet port...
