Kia Ora,

I have been looking at using a compact flash card instead of a standard hard drive. I see this has been done on the astilinux boxes and some of the other products similar to PIF. Can any one advise on the size of card I would need for PIF. Also the read / write cycling looks to be a necessary consideration - What are the gotchas with using this vs a standard hard drive.

Thanks.

For PiaF, I don't believe this would be a good idea because of speed of the device is slower and as you said there is a read/write life limitation - as for astilinux it can get away with it because it uses a RAM drive for most read/writes except for vm messages and configs, so there is limited card accessing.
