R.I.P. Fonica VoIP Service

I've looked, but I can't find the answer to this question: Does Fonica support faxing / t.38?

Hi

Not T38, however, we have had some users use Fonicavoip for faxing and report success. This is not particularly down to anything we have done, but we do try to use the premium quality routes in each case, and no compression, because the service is firmly aimed at PBX termination, and therefore by definition, likely to be for business, who will not tolerate poor quality calls.

DID's in Ecuador ???

Hey Joe, what are the chances to get DID's in Ecuador, South America (country code 593, city code 2). I have been looking for someone to provide a DID in there, but no luck at all so far.

Regards,
markiper

I just signed up for your service. While preparing the upgrade form I realized that while my credit card billing address is the same as the address I used at sign-up (a box at a UPS Store) my drivers license has my home address. Will this mismatch cause a problem?

No Not at all.

We just need a couple of pieces of official documentation to show that you are who you say you are, and not some scammer who will have thousands of pounds of minutes off us with stolen credit card details and paypal details, which will later be clawed back.

No emails from FTec

Hi. I just signed up for Ftec last night. No confirmation email showing confirming email, or how to set up, or later the cid. Did get account number and card alias.

Dont see a link on the site for help.... What should I do next?

Hi

You should have received 2 emails, one to confirm your account by clicking on the link, and a second one you would have got when you clicked on the link.

Within the second email is a link to how to setup your system. There are also some instructions in post one on this thread.

If you have any issues or problems with setting up, then either PM me or email me with your account number

tracker925: please use PM to send your info to Joe. Not really a good idea to post that info in the forums.

thanks for taking it down. I drove off and worried about it ever since i put it up.

something wierd not sure if its just me. When I dial out using Fonica I dont hear any ringing for a long time. But my cell phone im calling starts ringing right away. and if i answer it, it connects the call before it ever starts to ring

Is this normal on Fonica? When i dial out using vitelity i hear ringing right away.

Do you have a list of where your DIDs are available in the US?

Hi

Please find attached DID's

In terms of the ringing issue, We normally let the carrier pass the ring on to you, however, the company we use, peers with a large number of other carriers, so it may be peculiar to that number, this is not something I have expererienced.

If you PM me with your telephone number to test, we can do some tests.

Does this mean you have DID's available now in the US? When I log into my account it still comes up blank when I select US on the DID page.

So nothing in the USA 208-784 area? North Idaho - everyone seems to not support that area - only one so far has been VoicePulse.....

Hi

Our costs are not the cheapest, by any means. This is mainly because we are low volume.

We have no API with our supplier, so we manually provision each DID, that's why you do not see them in the Web-UI

Work on $10USD setup and $10USD per month, with 2 channels, and no per minute charges (except for NGN's). We can also do fail-over to your landlines should your broadband be down, but clearly there is a per minute cost for this.

In general terms, this is the approximate cost for all DID all over the world.

I know that the DID are available from other suppliers at much lower cost - so I won't take it personally if you want to purchase elsewhere.

Well, Im trying to support the PBXIAF project, but without local DID I cant do that, reason I finally gave up on Vonage with their promise of local DID for the past 3 years.

VoicePulse seemed to do it in 3 weeks vs 3 years ....... but again I wanted to give back to the grp that have given me so much with this distro......
