I suspect that there are those viewing this forum that, like me, find themselves struggling to have the time to get a VOIP system figured out and implemented just by reading the Nerd Vittle articles, posting forum questions where necessary, and a little trial and error.

It's clear that if you've done this a few times, it's not a big deal and can be done quickly but there is a learning curve the first time around. I think that there are plenty of people willing to pay a reasonable price for professional services to help move things along quickly.

Is there a place on this site that I've overlooked where those that know Asterisk / PIAF / VOIP well can post contact information for their services? I'm not necessarily talking turn-key, as I know those services are readily available, and the people that can afford full service are probably not those reading this site. I'm thinking more of someone that you can turn to to make it through the sticking points that would work on a retainer or per call basis for those that want to have their hands somewhat in it and/or have budgets that don't afford turn-key.

Anyone interested in such an arrangement is welcome to PM me, as long as that is within the rules of this forum.

Hi

When you chose your VoIP consultant, I would recommend that you do a search on their name to see the type and number of posts that have been made by them.

This will serve as a good independent check. Most good consultants do not tout for business here.

You may also consider hiring the FreePBX team that provide consultancy.

Generally speaking, you'll find the pricing from members of our forum considerably cheaper than the FreePBX alternative. Drop me a note if you have trouble finding someone. It's extremely helpful to lay out what you need with as many specifics as possible. And there is no restriction on members of the forum proposing a price for a solution. In fact, we'd encourage it.

This is great and I love this forum, very helpful !

Ward is correct in that you can find assistance that is "considerably cheaper" then FreePBX support from freepbx.org.

As a member of that support board (full disclosure) I will tell you the difference is when you open a ticket on our system, it is triaged and assigned to one of six people whom all have access to each other for assistance. Also, we maintain a working relationship with all the major industry players such as Digium, Sangoma, Rhino, Pika, Aastra, Snom, etc...

Simply put - our aggregate experience and collective brain power is unmatched.

That and we are consistently gaining long term customers so our rates can not be too far out of whack.

Caveat Emptor.
