FreePBX 2.7 Is Final

THis sort of happened around the Orgasmatron 5.1 time frame, and I notice that Orgasmatron 5.2 still installs freepbx 2.6 not 2.7 - I have upgraded my test box to 2.7 and have not noticed any problems, but would be interested in the Ward-word on whether this is sanctioned, encouraged, or warned about.

FreePBX 2.6 was barely out the door when 2.7 appeared... kinda like Orgasmo 5.2 :wink5:. Haven't tested it yet and I'm a two-aquarium type of guy.

I've tried testing inbound faxing, and with the SIP detection it doesn't really work, it eventually drops to my call group, i then transfer it to the extension, and it detects the fax and receives. So far it received 5/5 faxes.

You need asterisk 1.6.2 to get SIP faxing working

Without SIP detection, I assume you used 1.4?
What did you use as fax detection type: Zaptel?
Can one use Zaptel, even if one does not have a hardware telephony card?

I am trying to receive a fax, but detection does not work.
I set fax detection type to Zaptel, but have no hardware card.

To follow up on my original post.

I'm running FreePBX 2.7 on my own build of Asterisk 1.6.2.6.

The only problem I came across was a double quote issue with the Fax Configuration module. I tracked it down and fixed it myself, then discovered bug 4099 covered it and the next day the Fax Configuration was released with .17 and the fix.

The only other issues was that, 1.6.2.5 worked with spandsp 0.0.5 only, and now 1.6.2.6 works with 0.0.6 only. Wierd, but, whatever! Faxing is working 100% and I absolutely freaking LOVE IT.

The other new features in 2.6/2.7 are just lovely as well. Virtual extensions, more queue control, pinless dialing, allowing faxing to every extension with a separate email as a destination (HEAVEN!) .. loving it.

I have one box running PIAF & 1.4 with FreePBX 2.7 and two boxes running handrolls of 1.6.2.5 and 1.6.2.6 with 2.7.. they are all functioning great.

Upgraded 2.7

I just upgraded from 2.5/2.6/2.7 all through the GUI of freepbx, follwing the directions on screen, everything seems to be working (SIP trunks, stations, features that i have tested and even FAX) except when I pull up the ARI interface I can log into the ARI html page but if I click on any of the links, settings, voicemail, call monitor...etc it returns me to the login screen. Am I missing a setting I can't find anything in the posts on this trouble.

There was a small bug in ARI that did just what you describe. If you check for updates in Module Admin I think that there is a Framework update for ARI. That should solve the problem.

If not, then try to delete the cookie for ARI in your browser.

If that does not help, then check the permission for php/session directory (I think it is in /var/lib/php/session) that the directory is owned by asterisk.

No message playback from ARI

I can't seem to get the ARI web interface working, after changing permissions on the folder it still will not play a message to the call me number with the telephone icon or the speaker icon. It rings the telephone but there is no message? It does send the email with the .wav file and the message is there, I can also play it from the aastra telephone voicemail key. Is there something I am missing in the include directory?
