Gizmo lost my number

This is my first post in the form and I would have liked to have it be on a more positive note but I can’t believe this. I have used Gizmo for a little over a year and really have not had any problems other that occasional quality issues on calls. I have a call in number and switch between them and Vitelity on outbound. Anyway, about two weeks ago my call in stopped getting calls so I put in a trouble ticket, which of course was lost. After not hearing anything I submitted another one and got the following response...

"We have changed your number to 1616xxxxxxx, you previous number was not working correctly.
Thank you for your patience."

What is that, you don’t even ask or let me know what’s going on or give any options it’s just here is your new number that’s it. Everybody has my number, it's even printed on some cards (I know, I know..never print a number from a VoIP provider cuz you never know what will happen) so I would like a little input. Well thanks but no thanks; I will never use Gizmo again, not even for the free calling.
 
Is your old number not working at all?

Sound like you need to report another trouble ticket.
 
If they don't give your old number back, I'd ditch Gizmo and get a DID from Vitelity. You can get a sweet deal as a PIAF user.
 
You also can get a free DID from ipKall.com. Just use it once a month to keep it active. It works great using any Gizmo SIP URI.
