well, after much pain - I am up to a working system.. I hope.In answer to Wards previous question I am running a 16G Class 4 Verbatim SD - it ran fine for at least a year, until I tried to update/upgrade, but I suspect it has nothing to do with things.
Confused about versions - I tried to install the Ipbx 3.11.11 kit, but it wouldn't install, so I went with the latest, which I am sure said something about 3.11.12, but then when I issue a "status command" it says it's 3.11.11. Status also says this is ast 11.11.0, and freepbx 12.0.24 (yet, the web config screen for freepbx says it's 12.0.40)
I have plugged in a wifi dongle (EDIMAX 7811), which seems to be working fine (it came up as 192.168.0.116, whereas the ethernet was .118. ) I do note that "status" says "169.254.133.58" and 192.168.0.116 - I think the former is the ethernet telling me it's disconnected and can't find a DHCP server - I presume there is somewhere to actually disable that.
notably (and this is a freepbx problem, I think) I was getting a Security warning on the unsigned Freepbx modules, but have disabled them, they don't show up in system alarts, but are still at the "top of screen" in details, under security warning.
Oh, one other quick question - local IP addresses aside, the ability to incrediblepbx.local (or go there via a browser) is handy - is there somewhere that one can change that ID, say to "pbx.local"- I think I saw something that said that this related to "bonjour" and the ".local" was effectively mandatory.
Next on the list - ddclient setup, (I am using dynu, not dyndns), then fax setup, then travelling man, then getting my SPA3000 configured to do PSTN PAssthrough. and as I reach each milestone, shutting down, moving the SD to my mac, and dd'ing it to a img, so that recovery is less painful.I have some questions on each of these - will post them separately.
