Has anyone configured the GXP2000 (or BT100) phones from Grandstream to work properly when parking a call?

I have Aastra and Polycom phones that announce the parking lot location just fine.
When I do "transfer" on the grandstream and enter 70, the call is immediately sent to the parking lot on the next available slot but the telephone immediately drops the line.

I looked at the grandstream website and they say that the grandstream phone should get an immediate call back to the phone and say the slot number of the parking lot back to the person that placed the call in the parking lot.
Has anyone configured this and does it interfer with the other workings for the other types of phones.
Thanks

The transfer button on the GXP2000 does a blind transfer (that's why you don't hear the call being announced). If you use asterisk to transfer the call, it should work just fine (i.e. hit ##70 to transfer the call to the parking lot).

##70

Can you tell me the correct way to use the '##70'?
If you key it in during the call, it is just tones with no action.
Do you do transfer first? or do I have the aastra and other phones mis-configured?
Thanks - probably a simple question but still need the simple sequence of events to understand.
thanks

You shouldn't need to do anything special other than enable the feature in the Feature Codes section in FreePBX (## is the default for an in-call asterisk blind transfer).

GXP2000 parking lot

Tom,

We just use hit the transfer button followed by "70" which sticks it in the next available slot. I use the bottom 4 BLF's to monitor the parking lot which makes it easy to see which slot it goes into at a glance. This might not work for you if you have a large parking lot or use the BLFs for something else.

In our case it is kinda ideal because we only have 4 extensions in the office so I use the top 3 BLFs on each station for status of the other 3 extensions and as I said above, the bottom 4 for the parking lot.

We could probably reduce our parking lot size to 3 or even 2 because I don't think I've ever seen more than 2 slots occupied.

Don't know if that helps but there it is.

Update

I was not hitting the # key twice fast enough to actualy get it to work.
Thunderheart - can you post the changes to allow the lights to show parked calls?
Thanks to all for the quick responses

You can increase the time you have to enter feature codes by adding this line your features_general_custom.conf file:

featuredigittimeout=1500

That will allow 1.5 seconds to enter feature codes and still have asterisk pick up on it. The default value is 500, or half a second.

Thanks

Thanks Boolah
I appreciate the info and will put it to good use.

No code involved really.

Just go to the config page for the phone and set the desired lamps to Key Mode:"Busy Lamp Field", Name: "PARK_1", User ID: "71". Repeat for each parking lot slot you want to monitor but or course you'd change it to "PARK_2", "72" etc.

Let's see ... that's all I remember having to do. Of course you do have to have the Parking lot configured already.

Hurray! Elegant and Simple

Good Grief! That's the shortest, easiest way Ive ever seen documented to do that - its awesome. You wouldn't believe some of the things Ive tried - and failed - to get this same effect.

For anyone reading - this not only give a visual clue as to when the parking lots are in use, but also a one touch button to pick up the call.

THANKS THUNDERHEART!!!
