I just came across this website yesterday (http://www.fring.com) and it seems to be a pretty interesting application, so I thought of asking in the forum if anyone actually has this working, and if you could share your experience. It seems kind of interesting that now you can use 3G/GPRS networks for VoIP communications; who knows, probably someone in the forum might have this application loaded in their iPhone and working properly, even though it seems to not be possible.

Fring

I have this working without issue using PBXIAF 1.2.3 and the latest version FreePBX. Nothing fancy on getting this awesome app to work with my setup. Just make sure you have the proper ports SIP, etc, opened on your firewall. Also, you'll need to change the chosen ext profile to use NAT. After that, you should have no problem registering Fring to your setup.

Stucker,
Can you please elaborate on what SIP, ports, etc... settings need to be made to get this to work?
I'd love to get this up and running but am a bit confused on how this all works.

Hey Stucker, I like your moniker...
I just tried it on my sprint mogul... it refuses to register on my piaf. All my ports are properly forwarded. did you make any specific setting changes?

Installed it on a Nokia E61, works brilliantly. Regsitered as an remote extension to my PiAF box residing in the UK, registered thru both GPRS on a Pakistani GSM cellphone network, and also on home WiFI. Just needed to enter the server DynDNs domain name, the extension number and its password.... registered instantly. Call quality was not bad at all, the volume a bit low though. I did have a problem where the program would automatically stop and restart 30 seconds or so into conversation (thereby dropping the call). Not sure if thats a limitation on the trial s/ware, or bug.... will wait for the next version.
