Having MWI turn off when VM is deleted from ARI

Is that enough acronyms for you?

I'm running PIAF Purple with Cisco 7940 phones running the SIP firmware. The message waiting indicator works fine, but the question I have is if a voicemail is deleted via the ARI web interface, the MWI doesn't turn off, unless you dial into voicemail from the phone and then hangup.

Any ideas on how I can make this work better?
