HELP: PIAF 1.4 Testers Needed

Thanks for all of the reports. I believe we are at a place where PBX in a Flash version 1.4 should be released. I have talked to Ward about it and it is in his hands. I will be doing a final update tonight and uploading the very latest final builds for him. I am away for the next week on course in Ft Lauderdale 8^) So hopefully it all goes well. I will be checking and can make changes if required via my phone as required but I suspect there will be few issues. Once this has been out the door the next thing to be released will be sushi finally! I will need some beta testers for this in a few weeks and as usual ward will be handling the requests. I know it has been a long time coming but I suspect it will have been worth the wait.

I have also been thinking about releasing a modified daily backup program for our poor cousins over on the dark side. Seems since they decide to stick their middle finger up at freepbx and go their own way they removed the backup module. Of course I would make it so the system would only restore to PIAF hehehe.....

There I go mocking the afflicted.......

Do we have a time line as to when the new 1.4 will be released. Also is the current beta now the 1.4 or is it still 1.4 install and 1.3 distro?

Thanks

1.4 64 bit version?

How about the 64 bit version? I've got one system with that that I took the plunge with a few months ago. It's been solid, but could probably use some patching. I've been delaying running "update-source".

changelog?

From the downloads page it looks like 1.4 is final. Is there a changelog available?

at the moment the changelog has not yet been posted

Status ??

Good Morning,

The early 1.4 Beta I have been using (Thanks Ward) has been very stable. Next week I will have to rebuild an old (18 Months) green TB and would like to use this release.

What are your thoughts and current release schedule ?

TIA...

PIAF 1.4 final release already is available on some of the download sites, and we're working to get it everywhere. So... be our guest. :smile5:

So I did a vm install, and a deployment on another box of 1.4. I did run update-scripts and update-fixes. So far theres some minor bugs -
1. passwd-master does not update the root password.
2. starting/stopping fail2ban gives message that its not installed, I did test it though, and it did ban me. I know Ward has a fix up for that, but I thought it would be updated on the new fixes by now.
3. - not sure if this is how its meant to be, but I liked how webmin was in a frame before, now its not.

1. passwd-master has never updated the root password.

2. have a look at the update-fixes log to see if it was installed correctly. Generally if you spun up a new install of 1.4 fail2ban 0.8.3 was installed. Check to see if exist /etc/fail2ban/ if so 0.8.3 is installed if not then 0.6 (old version is installed) Just tested 1.4 - 32 and fail2ban 0.8.3 (current) is installed.

3. No idea what you mean. This is the latest version of webmin. if it is not showing up in the kennonsoft interface then it might be something that needs to be brought to the attention of kennonsoft. Nothing has changed in 1.4 that would alter it's behavior so there must be some other cause.

1. ok
2. yes, the /etc/fail2ban dir is there. If i do service fail2ban restart -its fine, but if I use your disable fail2ban script it says its not installed.
3. Previously when I clicked the webmin link in the kennonsoft ui it would launch webmin inside the piaf frame just like freepbx, but now the frame is no longer there, its just a plain webmin window. Checking the link it shows: http://pbxIP/menu.php?id=webmin
but when I click on it, that link is in my address bar for a split second, then it forwards to http://pbxIP:9001/

2. You did not say that is was the disable-fail2ban script. Will look into it.

3. Probably something with the latest version of webmin. The kennonsoft guys will need to look at it.
