Could anyone point me to a good resource of the history behind Asterisk - like a time line of significant milestones?
Yes - I can google it :wink5: but does anyone have any favorites?
I'm also looking for market penetration stats - from what I can find, it looks like Open Source Telephony is at about 18%, but that is stats from last year.

If I were a reseller, I guess I would have this at my fingertips, but I just support systems within my organization, and I hope to expand it to additional sites...

Thanks!

History

This one starts right from the word go. I can remember Mark having his web cam up in his dorm room back in the days of old. Just a note from me, there are allot of folks pushing different distro's of "Asterisk" from the "Greenies" to "PBXINAFLASH'. I have seen them all worked on them all and found the best of the best is right here in this forum.

Good luck ... with your history lesson!

This is the wiki it shows different release dates:

You can also find some really good history with this distribution on Nerd Vittles ... INCLUDING SOME KILLER APPS...

Thanks for the links. I've followed and used PiaF since it's inception. I left Trix soon after it went green. I'm glad they did - without that change, I'm not sure if PiaF would have happened.
