I have a DID provider who gives me a 10 channel DID and there are some times where they say I reach 12 channels and I have to either increase extra channels or somehow 'limit' the inbound simultaneous calls to 10. I dont make outbound calls with this provider, its inbound only. In the 'inbound routes' setup I dont see anywhere to limit it. Is it possible?

on inbound your provider has to limit - you have no control on how many at a time they send you. outbound - that is a diff story - which you say you don't do outbound.

do they have some kind of portal that you can configure on their website etc otherwise you need to tell them they need to limit.....

On trunk settings, you can set number of channels to 10.

edit: disregard - that is for outgoing.

Hi

I would say that it is the carriers responsibility to limit the calls they send you. If you are only paying for 10 channels inbound, them they should not send you more than 10 channels.

If their equipment cannot limit the number of concurrent calls, then I would argue that this is their problem, not yours.
