I am trying to help a friend get his Shoretel system off the dedicated T1 lines he is using, which is ridiculously expensive. How can I replace the T1 with DSL, and use the PBXIAF server to provide trunks from a multi-channel DID provider? I know how to configure the external trunks, but how do I set up trunks to the ShoreTel switch? Do I set then as extensions? Please help!! Thanks. Richard

If it were my project..... I would build a PIAF box with dual T1s (Sangoma A102). Move the existing T1 to the new sever and then do a cross over T1 to the existing Shoretel unit. You can then work out the call handling / routing between the systems as time is avilable. An put the service T1 directily into the Shoretel while you work out issues with out impacting the customers service..

Then get the DSL up, and some test SIP trunks operating.

Finally, move / port your numbers over, and shut down the feed T1 leaving the cross connect in place untill the Shoretel unit is retired in favor of the PIAF box..

Good Luck,,,
