How does asterisk handle analog line interruptions? For example, if I had a regular analog phone plugged in pre-FXO, what happens if this line is picked up? Does asterisk recognize that the channel isn't ringing anymore or that the line is open and terminate the call from the queue? Does it mark the channel as in use, so as to not pass outgoing calls to that trunk? I'm basically looking to understand what happens when a call is incoming on an analog line, but is picked up pre-FXO/pre-PBX.

Yes it would stop ringing as the analog line would come up with an alarm as off hook. and If it's off hook it will also not attempt to dial out over that line.

Thank you, tm1000! That answers my question exactly.

I would like to know how your testing goes for future reference. Good point, though. I am currently using 2 OBi110's to handle the 2 analog lines.

I haven't finished setting everything up yet, I just wanted to know what would happen in the event that the "emergency" handset pickup occurred.

The Sangoma's don't pickup the line if it's "occupodo".
