Resolved: How to configure VoiceStick?

Has anybody successfully configured voicestick with PBX in a flash. I have their annual plan and want to use it with my PBX in a flash system as SIP trunk. I have other 10 SIP trunk configured successfully but voicstick trunk never registers:confused5:. Can somebody help me who has got it working in their system?

Thanks,

Hi Cliff,
Yes it is in continuation of the thread at BBR. I haven't tried to send call without registering but ATA adapter is working fine. I am using SPA3000 to integrate my Voicestick ATA with my asterisk server. I want it to register directly from my PBX in a flash system.

I just cut everything from VoiceStick - trunks - peer details so I'm only sending my register string. I can register and receive calls. I don't need to register to send calls. As I stated in the other thread, I must either name the trunk i2telecom.com or add "72.5.80.116 i2telecom.com" to the host file. I changed useragent=MyPBX and I register.

Can you ping i2telecom.com from your asterisk box?

still not registering

I followed all your steps but still it doesn't registers.

I cut everything from VoiceStick - trunks - peer details. Only register string is sent but still it remains in "Request Sent" state.

I verified that asterisk can ping i2telecom.com
trunk name is i2telecom.com
useragent is set to MyPBX.

Asterisk sip log shows that Asterisk is sending register but getting no reply.

Seems like a problem between your router and Asterisk box. Do you use the same i2telecom port for both your ATA and Asterisk? Change the i2telecom port on your ATA then reset both the ATA and router. Don't register both to i2telecom at the same time.

Got it working !

Thanks Cliff! Finally I got it working. Reset of my Modem did the trick. I still don't understand what and how it was blocking but I am happy to get it working. Thanks a lot for all your help!

Glad it's working.

When your ATA establishes a connection to a provider, your modem or whatever does NAT, maintains a table for that host and port so it knows where to forward the reply. I think when you had Asterisk use the same provider and port, the table was not updated and the reply went to your ATA.

I think VoiceStick officially allows Asterisk on their pay as you go plans and only cuts users that abuse unlimited plans. BruceN is back in charge and is making several positive changes. I expect more competitive pricing soon.
