SOLVED How to make my VM and Fax to Email work

Look at post #14 - don't use the script
run each line by hand(copy & paste)and make sure you do not get an error... if you do, stop and reply back
your box is sending, but google is rejecting, there is a conflict somewhere...
I cut and pasted it line by line after SSHing into.

Generally, if you give the PBX a full TLD domain, with subdomain (pbx.mydomain.net) , and put an A Record for it in a DNS , Gmail will accept it. Microsoft/Outlook/Hotmail, not so much.
My PBX has an address that is an FQDN. However, my instance of asterisk and the domain's IP address can only be reached from my IP address which has been whitelisted.

You really need a PTR as well. MS/Outlook etc will look for SPF, DMARC and DKIM, which gets way more difficult. In these instances there are some mail relay services you can pay a couple dollars a month for which might work as better.
For my own email server, I have all that, and the emails still go to the user spam folder. I have even seen big companies get delivered there also such as Spotify

Seriously, getting your mail service working securely is very much in your interest. If you don't then both incoming and outgoing mails will soon start to fail ;-)

This does not seem to apply to my situation. My emails work great. However, this instance of asterisk, sendmail, and avantfax does not send me emails with my VM and Fax messages. There is something wrong with the configuration somewhere.

Actually it does, the mail server should ideally provide rewrite filters for both in and out mail, by both to and from addresses and content. the servers it is sending to will. in the 21st century, likely verify all the above, no SPF, no DKIM, no reverse DNS , and you will need to rely on some more competent relay that accepts your transgressions.

Securing emails is as important as securing your calls.

Your mail logs will show what is failing.

Try removing sendmail and replace it with postifx. Logging details are so much better.

Where can I get the Gmail mail logs?

And, what do you mean by "no SPF, no DKIM, no reverse DNS"

you can only get logs of what you send to gmail, if the mail fails gmail will email you with what failed, they won't help you fix that further.

I mean that in the absence of those against your mail server you will need to rely on a relay service,

it's the same as VOIP calls, the absence of rational and solid filters will allow you to pay for other peoples calls.

That's not quite true. Some tests I have done in the past, or expecting an email and it just never appeared in any of the Gmail folders. Even with the sending server side logs show "Message accepted for delivery"

Never seen that, you should search the email logs on both servers and if the Message-ID is not there I would check THAT one with gmail. They of course will tell you to check your spam, but that Message-ID id is unique from sender to recipient and all relays between.

Gmail of course only notifies the sender, so if gmail accepted it it means that they delivered it as the MTA also acceped it. Check with them.

This was some time ago, and with Google's reputation in the gutter, I have nearly stopped using nearly all their services.

Well, you guys have gotten me all confused.

If you are not going to try do at least research on how to get started, then maybe you should hire someone to do it for you? There are plenty of guides online to do what I suggested, and you won't even bother to look them up.

Coincidentally, due to a 'wife factor' I had to call Google Fi because she said that without 'mobile data' being on, she couldn't send or receive SMS's although phone calls worked fine, he assured me that data service WAS always necessary to do SMS's I assured him that the GSM network does NOT need 'mobile data', he demurred but said he had a T-Mobile phone in his pocket which he agreed did send and receive SMS's with alacrity although the Pixel3XL in his other pocket using the same T-Mobile tower but via Google Fi could not without 'mobile data' being on, I asked him to check up-line, both his supervisor and her supervisor neither knew that SMS's are stalled until you turn on wifi or google fi data . I was, shall we say, "Gob-smacked'!!", but it's true . . .

(No wife anger if she always leaves mobile data on until she starts streaming movies by accident I guess ;-) , I should add that she refuses to move to MintMobile which I use with none of that BS and generally on the same network, go figure . . .)

Here is my mail.log file (attached).
It appears that there are errors. But I cannot figure out what is the cause.
