QUESTION how to upgrade from FreePBX 2.11?

I'm running whatever version of incrediblepbx that includes asterisk 11.11 and freepbx 2.11. What is the procedure for updating to the latest stable version?

There is no procedure, you have to start from scratch, there is no upgrade mechanism, so it's the only way.

Well, that's a bummer, and a rather serious shortcoming of the distribution.

Is there any way to at least backup the configuration and restore it on the new installation?

You should be able to upgrade to version 12 with the FreePBX upgrader which you will need to install from the Module Admin. Should be able to get it up to FreePBX 13.

For Asterisk, will need to compile and install it yourself.
