I was running PIAF 2.0.6.2 with FreePBX 2.10, and I found the google voice module in other menu broken, and google voice number cannot be added.

The FreePBX 2.11 has the google voice motif option under connections, so I upgraded to 2.11. It turns out that I need Asterisk 11 in order to have google voice motif working. Now my question becomes how to upgrade Asterisk 1.8 to Asterisk 11 in PIAF 2.0.6.2?

Thanks!

You would most likely have to wipe and reinstall, as Asterisk 11 is only found in the Green release of PIAF. I wouldn't take up the time since Google Voice's ticking time bomb is down to less than 6 months now.

Oh well. Not a suprise, but not sure I would like to end my google voice ride prematurely. :D

I am trying to do a new install but bring my old configuration over. I don't think I have anything special with my installation besides upgrade to 2.11, but instaIncredible-backup2 does not work. :(

Trying FreePBX backup/restore now.

The Incredible Backup 11 scripts states that this should be restore to the same version Asterisk and FreePBX. I can sure bring FreePBX to same version, but I would like to use Asterisk 11 instead of 1.8.

Any other way I can upgrade to Asterisk 11 without re-configuring everything from scratch?

While it's untested, once you get the new and old servers up to FreePBX 2.11, using the backup should work. I can't recall any Linux-specific items that are included in the script. It is open source so you are more than welcome to review it for yourself.
