Hi All

I have just installed the latest and greatest PBX and came to removing all the pre set trunks which I have done but the system status still shows as 4 trunks online but I can not find them for the life of me, i have done sip show peers, sip show registry and iax2 show registry and they all come back as blank so I think its something else, what am I missing ?

If you installed Incredible Fax, those are the IAX modems. Though I don't know if those would be extensions or trunks. Never really looked into how they integrate.

They do indeed show up as trunks. Confused me too for a moment when I installed IncrediFAX on to an existing PIAF-Green system.

Hi, thanks for the help, but unless I fell asleep I did not install incredible fax as I would never use it, doesn't my status confirm that I have not installed it? And does incredible fax add 4 trunks that you can not see?

Thanks again

Rob

If you go to Reports -> Asterisk Info -> IAX Info you will see four "trunks" labeled iax-fax0 - iax-fax3 if you have IncrediFAX installed.

If you installed Incredible PBX (as opposed to just PBX in a Flash) I'm fairly certain you got faxing as part of the install.

Your spot on mbellot, it is the fax trunks, is there a way to get rid of these through the GUI or should I just leave it be as it wont actually hurt anything other than my head one blurry 4am morning when one of the trunks goes offline and I cant figure out why the numbers do not make sense! lol

Won't hurt anything AFAIK to leave them...

Smarter men than I would have to answer the how to remove them question.

You can edit /etc/inittab and comment out the four entries. Also, comment out the fax stuff in /etc/rc.local. Then run "chkconfig iaxmodem off". Next reboot they should all have gone away. I also comment out all the entries in /etc/asterisk/iax_general_custom.conf, too, but I don't believe it's necessary.
