My DID provider offers me multiple regional FQDN's from where calls can come into my system. They claim their system will be able to locate my active registration and port to call to that at any time. I want to use this possibility to set up a failover system in place.
I am aware that there is the option of "host=ipa&ipb", but that does not solve the registration string issue to both ip addresses. My PBX needs to actively register to all FQDN's to make sure that one is automatically picked up should another not work.
Outbound I was able to solve through the "host=ipa&ipb" as I do not need registration there.
I was thinking of setting up two trunks in piaf each with the identical parameters only with a different host. That way the registation should always fall back to the last active registration. The DID provider should then always be able to see what the last active registration for my trunk is.
Any ideas as to whether this should work?
